NJAWBO AWARDS and RECOGNITION are the cornerstone of the NJAWBO experience

As a NJAWBO member we want you to feel valued and appreciated for your contributions. We know this creates passion and commitment from individuals and helps keep our organization strong.

That’s why NJAWBO offers a variety of outstanding awards at both the Region and State level. To build a culture of inclusion we need to take the time to recognize our members and others for the contributions they selflessly make to NJAWBO and their community. This small but significant act helps us create an instant connection and relevance to the hard work all of us do throughout the year to make our businesses and our organization grow and develop.

REGION LEVEL

The Regions can recognize their members with these outstanding awards: Teal Heart, Businesswomen of the Year, and Rose & Scroll. Additional awards that also recognize contributions of Region members include Trailblazer, Notable Newcomer, Beacon of Light, and Service Recognition.

Nominees for the Nancy C. Righter Service Award come from each region’s Teal Heart awardees of the previous year. Each region may submit one nomination for the Business Woman of the Year and Rose and Scroll Award.

Below is a brief summary of each of these awards:

Teal Hearts Award is given for a member’s service above and beyond – more than just doing their job. If you want to bolster the identity of NJAWBO in the community, what better way is there than to send out a press release announcing this award has been given to one of your members for their achievements and outstanding service and dedication to the State and Regions. It’s a great way to provide excellent PR for the Region and the recipient and to inspire the general NJAWBO membership. State Board Members are also eligible.

Key informationThe Teal Heart must be awarded at a Region or State event by June 30, in order for the recipient to qualify as a nominee for the Nancy C. Righter (NCR) Award. A NCR nomination form is given to the recipient along with the Teal Heart. This form must be completed by August 15 each year, and submitted to the State VP Member Services or State Awards Chair in order to qualify. Up to four Teal Hearts can be awarded, sparingly*, per year, per chapter, and by the State Executive Committee. The cost is $28 for the pin and a matted certificate. These can be ordered through the State office. * Teal Hearts should not be awarded to Region Board Members or the Region President. They should not be awarded to the same person more than once every three years.

the Business Woman of the Year Award is a great way to promote your members businesses. This award honors members who distinguish themselves in their businesses, NJAWBO, and in their community.
